About the Role
We are seeking experienced linguists to support a quality audit initiative for a product localization content. This project focuses on reviewing AI-generated IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcriptions that were previously validated or corrected by linguists against audio recordings.
Background
The project involves reviewing linguist submissions containing:
- A short audio recording
- A standard orthographic transcription
- AI-generated IPA transcriptions for selected words
We are now looking for reviewers /auditors to review a representative sample of these completed submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit a sample of linguist submissions to verify that the original validate/correct decision was accurate
- Confirm that IPA transcriptions correctly reflect the pronunciation heard in the audio
- Identify errors or inconsistencies in the original review
- Provide corrections where applicable (scope to be confirmed)
- Work within the client-owned platform environment
- Meet agreed turnaround times and quality standards for project
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in the target locale
- Strong knowledge of IPA phonetic transcription and phonetics
- Prior experience with CAT tools or similar client-owned platforms
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently against quality benchmarks
Project Details
- Start: Early October 2026
- Expected duration: Approximately 2 weeks
- Expected workload: Approximately 20 hours between project kickoff and mid-October
- Tool: Client-owned platform
- Target languages: fr_CA, en_US, pt_PT, vi_VN, de_DE, ko_KR, tr_TR, it_IT, id_ID, nl_NL, th_TH, es_ES, ms_MY, pl_PL, ja_JP and he_IL
